Mom loved her sweets, and that’s no surprise to anyone if you knew her. She was a good cook and an even better baker. Her desserts were legendary until she got to be a bit older and began to forget to include all the ingredients.
We would ask Pop what’s Mom’s favorite dessert?” He would simply answer: “Whatever you put in front of her.”

The Sands of Time
We were not big gamblers, but we went to Atlantic city for a few days in the 80’s. We went to an all you can eat buffet in the Sands. The rest of us are at the Antipasto station before heading for the carving stations and the Pasta. “Where’s mom? We asked. We looked around the room, and there she was , with about six desserts lined up all around her tray and a big smile on her face.
